What Causes Chest Pain And Cough Along With Fever?
On Monday I went to Dr because I had a deep cough and chest pain, low grade fever and restricted airway. He determined I had bronchitis and prescribed Amox-Clav 875-125mg. Two days later I returned because the symptoms has worsened. He prescribed prednisone, robutissun & Proair HFA 90 MCG Inhaler. I also went for chest X-ray witch was negative for pneumonia. (day 7 of my symptoms, day 5 on meds) I m having same symptoms with coughing spells. My chest hurts. Dr is out of office for the day and I m waiting for covering Dr to prescribe me something stronger for this cough. Do you have any other suggestions. I have been resting, drinking plenary of fluids taking Advil & drinking tea & honey. My coughs are unproductive. HELP!

I passed carefully through your question and would explain that your symptoms could be related to pleuritis or bronchitis.
Although your chest X-ray is negative for pneumonia, we cannot exclude the above issues.
Coming to this point, I would recommend taking Bromhexine tablets or syrup for a cough coupled with an antihistamine (Cetirizine).
