What Causes Chest Pain Along With Elevated Blood Pressure Levels?

Went to ER last year for chest pain and high blood pressure. Short story, I received a heart cath and one vessel was blocked about 30 %. Doctors could not determine cause of chest pain and on top of my regular blood pressure medicine, prescribed Amlodipine. Chest pain continues near daily with no cause for onset. Pain ranges from 2 to 4 on scale of 10.

First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, most probably it can related to Angina and with normal coronary arteries possibility of prinzmental angina can't be ruled out. Amlodipine can be of.help however nitrates and beta blockers can.be used along to decrease burden on heart and to decrease frequency of attacks. Continuation of aspirin and statin may also be advisable. Avoiding strenous activities is also a must.
