What Causes Chest Discomfort?

For about two weeks now I have been experiencing chest discomfort. It started after I ate a meal and the middle of my chest was squeezing.

Now when I'm still, there is no pain...it just feels like the left breast/heart area is very heavy,

However, when I bend down to touch my toes and inhale and hold my breathe, I feel pain around the chest. Once I exhale, it's gone...what is this?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in to HCM.
i would like to suggest that kindly immediately consult a physician and get an ECG done to rule out any cardiac causes.

If the ECG turns out to be abnormal you may be advised other non invasive cardiac tests like Echocardiography and cardiac enzymes.

If the ECG is normal then the pain could be due to gastric reflux in which case proton pump inhibitors like pantoprazole is helpful.

Regards,
Dr.Riyanka
