What Causes Chest Discomfort While Playing Golf?

Yesterday while playing golf, I suddenly felt like something hard and cold was in my. Esophagus or upper chest. I think it s possible that I may have taken a sip of ice cold water prior to that, but not sure. This feeling lasted for almost the full back nine, just about 1 1/2 hours. I also became distracted, and unable to focus on what I normally would, but think that may be caused more from concern and uncomfortability. Do you have a possible diagnosis?

Hello,

With the history you provide, the most important concern is did you have a heart attack? The change in your mental status could be because your heart was not able to pump enough blood to your brain. The water would not cause the pain to last so long.

Regardless of how you are feeling now, it is of the upmost importance that you get a medical evaluation as soon as possible. If your physician's office is not open at this time, then please go to the nearest emergency room.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
