What Causes Changes In Blood Test Results After Having A Kenalog Shot?

I got a shot of Kenalog, in my lower back, on Monday afternoon, and had a Blood test on Tues morning: including CBC w/diff/Platelet. My WBC, Hemoglobin, MCH and Neitrophils were way high. Also my Glucose serum was 153, when it s never been over 105. I was fasting 8 hours, prior to blood test. Can this shot throw off all these numbers like this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, i do care for your concern.
you have not mentioned the reason why you have received kenalog injection.
It is a steroid injection, which has very less association with the symptoms said by you.
The lab report suggest more of a bacterial infection, with high neutrophil count, blood glucose level may also increase in certain infection.
I would advise to
consult a physician, and get blood culture done for pathogens, or tests according to symptoms present if any.
need not panic as the injection you received has no relation, though may flare up already present infection.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
I find this answer helpful
