What Causes Capsule To Get Stuck In The Throat?

When I take my Prozac it gets stuck regularly in my throat and opens and then I get terrible burning and a sensation that something is still stuck sometime later which is most uncomfortable. Is there anything I can take to stop the burning? Is there a different form of Prozac that I could have instead of a capsule? Kind Regards Louise

Hello,
Consult with your pharmacist when filling your prescription. Medication size and shape can vary slightly due to manufacturer. This may help. Other considerations include taking medication properly as directed. Take plenty of water to help it go completely down your throat. Medications can burn and cause damage to your throat if not taken properly. An inflammatory response or ulcerated condition can occur. You should consider an endoscopy if the condition persists. Please discuss all concerns with your prescribing physician to determine if additional changes are needed and limit any possible side effects.
Thank you for your inquiry.
