I have been diagnosed a number of years ago continue to be in the 95 percentile for arteries that but they say it s not plaque, but calcium. My blood work up is great and so are my heart numbers. I am a 69 year old male in good shape. My question relates around the calcium build up. Is it on the interior or the exterior of my arteries. Thanks

What Causes Calcium Build Up In The Arteries?
Hi, So far as calcium deposition is concerned, it is the intima of the blood vessel which gets involved. Many issues working at the level of cellular aspect as intracellular calcium, plasma level, receptor issues may be responsible for the same. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
