What Causes Burping With Passing Gas?

Hi I am having a problem with burping and passing gas. . It has never been a problem until about a week ago while I was at school. I have consulted a doctor because the problem is effecting me that badley that I have been missing my classes at school. Are there certain foods that I should be eating to stop this? He said that it might be stomach infection that causes a lot of gas (some bacteria in the stomach) but I am not sure what he called it, it started with a E. I need something done quickly to fix this because I cannot keep skipping my classes!
I am 21, 5"6, 250 pounds. Have very poor diet

Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from excess intestinal gas formation that is leading to excess burping and passing of gas..

It can occur due to number of causes like:
-Intake of certain foods..
-Eating too fast that can entrap excess of air.
-Lactose intolerance, excess intake of dairy.
-Diseases like Crohn's Disease.
-Bacterial infection in intestines.
-Constipation..
-Frequent chewing of chewing gums and sucking candies..
-Excess intake of dairy etc..

-You should start doing regular workouts it is a good practice..
-You should also take walk after meals..
-You should take small portions of food every 2 hours.
-Avoid heavy and large fatty meals..
-You should also limit intake of frizzy drinks, smoking and excess chewing gums..
-You can take Simethicone as it help in reducing intestinal gas..
-Activated charcoal pills can be helpful..
-Drink sufficient water..
-chew your food slowly and properly..

In case if it does not resolve in ten to fifteen days or if it exaggerates consult a Gastroenterologist and get a thorough evaluation done and he can advise you investigations like Endoscopy, blood tests, stool culture etc to confirm the diagnosis and treatment of the cause can resolve the problem..

Hope this information helps..
