What Causes Burning Sensation In Vagina?

Hi. Had a burning sensation in vaginal area. Have had a yeast infection before, same burning. But the skin around the vaginal area was inflamed as well. Has never happened. Took a look a few days back and had some scratches. Thought it was because my nails are long, but now the skin is gone around my vaginal opening. Painful.

General & Family Physician 's  Response

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to yeast infection or irritation from chemicals like soaps you use. Avoid soaps and irritants to wash the genial area and instead you can use saline or warm water. Using intimate wash is also good. You can use Miconazole cream (Monistat) for local application to clear yeast infection also. This is available as over the counter. Use loose and cotton underwear. Avoid underwear while sleeping.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
