What Causes Burning Sensation In Vagina After Intercourse?

So I ve been having burning around my vaginal opening and the urethra, after my fiance and I have sex. It s only been after the past few times and the pain goes away after a nice hot shower and a couple hours of sleep. Could I have a yeast infection?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.
Thanks for putting up your query over here.
Burning sensation after having sexual intercourse can be due ti vaginal candidiasis.
If I were your treating doctor,I would recommend,
-Clotrimazole vaginal tab suppository for 3-5 days.
-Simultaneous treatment of sexual partner if any such complaint present
-Refrain from sexual activity during treatment and 1 week after treatment.
-Maintain personal hygiene.
-Use cotton under garments.
-If symptoms persists despite these measures, need to visit gynaecologist for urine and vaginal swab culture.Antibiotics or oral anti fungals course may be necessary for 7-10 days.
Other possibilty giving rise to such symptoms may be chlamydial infection.
Hope this information helps.
Thanks.
