What Causes Burning Sensation In The Throat?

i am peri subbarao india aged 58 years.i have no bp, diabetes and am a healthy person.i am 5feet8 inches tall and weigh 80 kgs. recently i consulted ENT doctor who identified my throat burning (while talking) as GERD and prescibed OCID(TWICE DAILY BEFORE FOOD,SUPRADYN one daily, CLAMP 625 mg for one month.There is still the burning in the throat if i talk a little more.During my second visit same DR prescribed PANTOP 40mg, and supradyn for 2 months.Still though some improvement is there the burning in the throat did not disappear completely.During my 3 visit today(7th sept2011) Dr prescribed DOMSTAL-O/Bd and CETZINE/OD for a month. Please advise whether to buy and take these medicines and how long i should be on medication.I AM AVOIDING ALCOHOL,TOMATOES,TIGHT CLOTHING,EATING FOOD AT BED TIME, CITRUS FRUITS,COFFEE TEA ETC.USING ELEVATED BED(HEAD SIDE).PL RESPOND

Well GERD can be even the cause of the extraesophageal symptoms with the throat in foreground sometimes, and the most difficult to treat demanding longer treatment time three to more months and a continuous therapy or on demand therapy because you know: GERD is a chronic disease. As for the dietetic changes you are o.k as for your diner that should be always before 7 o'clock p.m. I'd recommend Nexium for another month and of course a consultation with an ORL doctor to value again your throat and your diagnose; you know throat in GERD has some typical features. I hope to have answered some of your interrogative points.
