What Causes Burning Sensation In The Sternum?

Good evening, I m experiencing a burning feeling about three inches down from my sternum. I ate some cheese and crackers earlier - felt better. It started burning again so I ate dinner but now feel like my food is stuck there or I feel like I ate three times more than I actually ate. Any ideas if this might be urgent?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
Urgency depends on your age, family history of heart disease or severity of symptoms
If you can provide me more relevant information, I will definitely help you in best possible way.

In young age it might be related to acid reflux or acid peptic disease due to stomach hyperacidity which coudk have triggered by crackers and cheese.

In my opinion you should take anti acidity medicines like ranitidine or pantoprazole group of drugs with antacids for 5 to 7 days
Avoid fatty fried spicy and junk food
You can take lemon water or other fresh fruit juices to reduce acidity.

Do let me know if you have any more queries I will happily answer you
Best wishes
