What Causes Burning Sensation In The Feet While Sleeping On The Stomach?

When I am sleeping on my stomach, my feet tingle and burn, causing me to stretch and twist them to try to make it go away. Sleeping on my back solves the problem, BUT when I turn on my back, my hands get tingly and numb, but not with the same pain as my feet. This is easily remedied by flexing my hands. I am a 57 year old male. I do have BAD feet. Plantar Faciatis, Morten s Neuroma, custom orthotics. But, I can move around fine.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You have not mentioned whether you are diabetic or not. However, if you are then keep your blood sugar level under control. Your symptoms are indicative of developing Peripheral Neuropathy (Nerve disorder). Get physically examined & get all Nerve Conduction test, CT, MRI done. Get evaluated, get treated.

In the meantime take Vitamin B12, B6, with folic acid & minerals like calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
