my husband had back surgery 5 wks ago, What would cause a burning feeling in the front along waistline and down the thighs. It feels like a really bad sunburn and any clothes touching the skin is about unbearable. It is worse at night. Will this be permanent and what cause it?

Hi,

As per your history, it seems to me that he may be having either transient nerve compression or transient nerve injury because of the surgical procedure is done on him.

No, most of the times it takes two to three months to get it fully recovered from these transient nerve traumas. Take the medication both multivitamins and steroids as prescribed by your consultant surgeon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muzaffer Hussain Parray,
