What Causes Burning Sensation During Urination?

Had unprotected sex a week ago. Went pee this morning was fine. Went while I was at work and only when I m peeing it feels like I m peeing on a cut. No abnormal discharge, smell, rash, or anything like that. Back started hurting so went to the ER. Went pee in a cup and they told me a uti. Could a uti cause pain not what feels like the outside...like I m peeing on a cut?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Burning sensation during the urination suggests urinary tract infection.
I would suggest to consult the urologist and undergo urine culture and antibiotic sensitivity test for better management.
Doctor will give following advises:
Antibiotics according to test report
Tablet pyridium
Syrup cital, 2 tablespoonful three times per day
Drink plenty of water and juice of cranberry, pineapple and orange
Maintain proper pelvic hygiene by using V vaginal plus wash
Do not delay in empty the bladder and empty it completely
Hope this may help you
