What Causes Burning Scrotum With Hanging Right Testicle Post Inguinal Hernia Repair?

I just recently had right inguinal hernia repair. First off, my right testicle is hanging down further than my left. Is this normal? Second, my scrotum (right side) is burning like crazy from the scrubbing in the OR with betadine or something. How can I soothe the burning sensation? I can t even sleep it s so bad. All the pain mess are doing nothing also.

I have gone through your query and being your physician i completely understand your health concerns.
what is ur age? For how long u are suffering from it? Any other associated problem? like diabetes or hypertension? Are u running fever? how many days passed since surgery?
It is completely normal for a right testis to hang more lower than the left testes. you should not be worried about it. you did not mentioned the days since surgery as it is very relevant in this regard.
You should use scrotal support like underwear most of time during the day particularly when you go out. It will help you relieve pain as well as decreases the swelling too.
the burning which you have mentioned , is probably due to infection or irritation from the scrub. regularly wash the scrotum will help you relieve this.
Meanwhile stay calm and use acetaminophen to relieve pain
