What Causes Burning Pain On The Top Of Foot?

firey burning pain on top of my left foot woke me up. on the scale from 1-10 the stabbing pain is about a 9. I cannot sleep. I have alternated heat and ice and took Ibuprofen. What could it be? Even after heat n ice n elevation n ibuprofen it is still hurting. I even rubbed Sombra on it. Nothing is helping. What is causing this pain? What can I do to fix it?

Thanks for using HCM, I understand your concern and will try to give you my medical advice, I think that you did the right thing, just wait around 48 - 72 hours that treatment works if your symptoms don't improve, you need go to the doctor because you can have some circulatory problems, skeletal musculature diseases or some damage in your peripherals nerve...only a physical exam can help with the right diagnosis, just keep your own treatment and take care.I hope that my advice has been helpful
