I was picking up a pencil my wrist was bent forward. I felt a sudden burning pain consisting of my thumb, the area of my palm below my thumb and up my forearm. It felt like something popped a nerve. It went away but now 2 days later it is severely achey when i move it. It feels better with pressure for a short period of time but is now a burning ache.

Hi dear user. And Thanks for using the HCM service.

Generally "burning pain" sensation is attributed to nerve lesion or compression. So it can be related somehow to a neuritis, or compression problem in your wrist, which can transfer even to your fingers. And arm.
Another cause could be a tendinitis.
In both cases you can take these options of treatment.

1.Cold local therapy with ice protected with a cloth.
2. Painkillers like ibuprofen 200mg every 8 hours
3. Slow movements like flexion and extention of your wrist.
If you don't get better
4. Physiotherapy. With an expert would be an excellent option.

I hope to be answering your question, and help you in your way to get better soon.

Wishing you the best in your health
