What Causes Burning And Tingling Sensation In The Vagina?
Hi. I keep having a burning tingling sensation in my vagina. I ve been to the gyno and they said that I had a bacterial infection so they prescribed me medication. I took all 14 of the pills and the pain still hasn t gone away. It feels like I have a UTI so I bought medication for it but it s not helping. What could be going on?
I can understand your concern. Most common reasons for burning and tingling in the vaginal area is bacterial infection. The second guess could be at fungal infection. If it would be a fungal infection, antibiotics will not help it.
However, I would advise you to go for vaginal swab analysis and blood test to determine complete blood count before starting further medication so that proper medications can be started based on the type of infection you are having and what medicines can effectively work against it. You can contact us again after the test results come or contact your gynecologist.
I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM. Let me know if you have follow up questions.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
