What Causes Burning And Itching In Throat After Eating Food?

I'm 15 years old, 154cm, and 52kg with no known medical conditions. However, I was believed to be allergic to breast-milk when I developed jaundice after drinking breast-milk as a baby. Since young, whenever I ate shellfish my throat and inner ears would start itching very badly. It would start hurting too, but not in the same way as a sore throat. It sort of feels like a burning sensation deep in my throat. Therefore I have always avoided eating shellfish. Just last night after eating dinner, my throat started burning and itching in that exact same way. Is this some kind of allergy? And should I be concerned about it? Thank you very much. :)

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand..

As per your complain as you already have a history of food allergies and the similar symptoms you are experiencing after taking food there is a possibility that you have eaten certain things in your food that are causing an allergic reaction and you are experiencing itching and burning sensation in throat..
As of now you can take anti allergics like Benadryl and anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen for relief but you should consult an Allergist soon and get evaluated and he can advise you allergic testing like Food challenge test, RAST test etc to rule out the foods that cause allergic reaction and you can be advised to avoid their intake as well as an Immunotherapy can be instilled by the allergist to reduce the severity of allergic reaction..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
