What Causes Bumps?

I woke up a few days ago with a fairly large bump on the left back side of my head, about an inch up from my hairline and about two inches in from my ear. It hurts quite a bit and feels solid and circular. I have had no recent head injuries and have no clue where it might have came from. Help?

thanks for your query, i have gone through your query. the bump could be because of an abscess or a sebaceous cyst or hair follicle infection. consult a dermataologist or general physician and get it ruled out. you can take a course of antibiotics after consulting the physician. if it is a sebaceous cyst it can be removed surgically. i hope my answer will help you. take care.
