What Causes Bumps And Ridges Around Vaginal Opening?

A couple of days ago I was having sex with my boyfriend and it was a little uncomfortable and it just seemed to be tighter than usual. I took a look and there are bumps/ridges around the opening. It s painless other than sex and I m jut not sure if I should be worried.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Understand your concern.
I think it is due to rough sex.
Friction and pressor injury during intercourse produce bumps.
It will goes its own in 4-6 days.

If not resolves it may be
STDs
Vaginal cyst: skene's duct cyst, Blocked hair follicle, Blocked sweat gland, Fordyce cyst, Molluscum contagium.

Advice:
Take bath with warm salted water
Wear pure cotton loose inner wear
Apply apple cider vinegar
Antibiotic: tinidazole + metro + flucanazole
Wipe area after urination

If not resolves
Consult the gynecologist and undergo test like
Pelvic examination
PCR, NAAT, and ELISA for STDs
Cell culture of discharge

Hope this may help you
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
