What Causes Bumps And Dents On The Head Of A Child?

Hi, my son who is 5 months old seemed to have what looked like a headband on his head when he was born. A long bump from ear to ear a little wider than a headband. Now it is going away but he does have bumps on his head and a couple of dents.. is this normal for his age. He was a c section baby and he is now in the 25% for weight so no extra fat on him. Thanks

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi, your 5 month child has bumps and dents on head which were present from birth and now they have started to decrease, this is probably due to moulding of skull at birth or during pregnancy. As child grows this moulding starts to decrease and it doesn't affect the child. However, an ultrasound skull should be done to find any abnormalities. Further treatment will depend on ultrasound report. Take care.
