What Causes Bump In Groin Area In A Child?

Hello, My 4 year old son has been telling me that his private part hurts. I examined him about 30 minutes ago and I can see that there is a nice sized little bump on the right size of his private. It also is hard and looks as if it may be filled with a little pus. I am a little concerned as to what this could be?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The hard bump on right side could be an enlarged lymph node.
Lymph node enlargement can occur due to infections and neoplasm.
Infections are usually associated with painful lymph node enlargement.
I suggest you to get an urine examination to look for evidence of infection.
In addition, an aspiration of the enlarged lymph node is also advised to determine the cause of enlargement.
Please consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and prescription of relevant investigations.

Thanks and take cre
