What Causes Bruising Around The Waistline?
Hi I have an 86 year old lady friend who has just recently developed bruising around her waistline. She is leaving on a trip via plan to Arizona tomorrow for 5 days and I am very concerned. Should I be? She takes meds for hypertension, thyroid, has been ill and has taken all of her antibiotics, steroids for 5 days, nebulizer three times a day, inhaler two times a day. She does have stomach issues and eats tums like crazy. I hope this is enough information to get started Thank you so much.Oh and my name is Lynn Please forgive the spelling errors. It is late and I cannot sleep with worry.

Hi,
The black marks around waist may be bruising. They are often caused at people taking blood thinning medications. In this persons the bruises are caused by minor trauma without person taking count of it.
She may need to visit a cardiologist to take an opinion either she can lower the dosage or stop them in order not to have more bruises.
