What Causes Bruised And Smelly Penis In A Child?

My son will be eleven this month. recently i started paying more attention to him as he is not bathing properly when he spend time with me on week ends. When I told him to wash his penis most he do not and I have to send him to the bathrooms up to 3 times. he said his penis is tender. when I examine his penis it is always bruise. I asked him why is penis is like that and he said he do not know. Also hi penis smells very high for a child it smell like when i had sex overnight without a bath. I do not know what to do. what is happening to my son. Concern dad

Hi,

Is there any discharge? If it is painful with bruises, this might suggest balanitis / balanoposthitis (infection over glans and prepuce). Try cleaning the area with warm saline 3-4 times a day after retracting foreskin(avoid force). If no improvement, kindly get him examined with your doctor for possible need of antibiotic treatment.
