What Causes Bruise In Lower Back And Stiffness?

I have noticed that s lower back feels bruised to the touch! It s directly on the bottom of my spine. I don t have back pain just the normal stress knotts and stiffness from day to day activities! But when I touch my lower back I am jolted with a sudden pain of feeling several bruised! I don t have any weight loss or gain, no muscle pain or aches other than from normal daily life and getting old.

Hello,

Bruising on lower back could be due to trauma to lower back. Feeling of sudden pain could be due to compression of spinal nerve. I suggest you to get X-ray of lower back.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
