What Causes Bruise And Swelling On The Ankle After Sunburn?
I am a 21 year-old female. I went on a canoe trip over the weekend and sunburnt my legs, which are healing up well with aloe. But my left ankle has been very very sore for almost a week and now that the sunburn is disappearing I can barely see two big bruises on it. But I don t recall hitting it or twisting it in the canoe or anything. It is not unbearable just get very tingly pains every now and then when I am on it. Used to be swollen but has gone down. Am I getting any better?

Sometime when the skin after burn is heald the new skin when touches with something get bruised easily...see if there is no swelling then no need to worry about..just use vaseline to get it wet...use painkiller if there is pain...keep the leg elevate when in tbe bed..by placing pillows below your legs...thanks

Hi...thanks for adking your question here in this forum...
You got sunburn which is improving now...i will advise you to wash burnt area...apply antibiotic cream like polyfax plus...use anti inflammatry like ibuprofen....also i will advise yo use sunblock on thehealed area...important is to elevate the leg above heart leve
