What Causes Brownish Vaginal Discharge While Using Mirena IUD?

I have the mirena IUD and for the past week I have had brown/black discharge. It s not a lot but enough to worry me. It doesn t have a weird or bad smell. I am not cramping. Do I need to go in to see my doc or is this something that will go away in time? I m concerned because with my previous iud s I didn t bleed or spot at all.

Hi, I think it can be due to the side effect of mirena or may be due to some vaginal infection. get yourself examined by a gynecologist. You may need some antibiotics and antifungal drugs. You may need some vaginal pessary of antibiotics and antifungal drugs also. If there is no infection, it will go away with time.
