What Causes Brownish Discharge From The Rectum Post Defecation?
after I use the bathroom and wipe totally dry I am getting a liquid from my # 2 area shortly afterwards which is staining my underwear and pants and the stain is a light brown color and this is happening in a short period of time (generally 1 to 2 hrs.) what is the cause and what can I do to correct
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. The brown discharge coming after an hour or two after defecation and cleaning can be due to the following reasons: Personal skin dermatitis or added infection or fungal infection. This can be diagnosed by the following: Clinical evaluation and examination. Per-rectal digital and proctoscopy, Colonoscopy if you are above 30 years of age. Tests of blood and stool. Rule out diabetes. Treatment will be as per cause found. Antibiotics, metronidazole if infection. Antifungal if fungal infection. Keep the area clean with plenty of water, make it dry and apply liquid povidone iodine. Multivitamins Avoid hot and humid atmosphere.
