What Causes Brown Vaginal Spotting Between Periods?

Hi. I am 38 years old, with two kids. I have always had regular periods. This is the first time I am seeing spotting sometimes clotted brown blood like, sometimes reddish, but not heavy flow like periods. This started mid cycle and is continuing for the past 11 days. I m expecting my regular periods in 4-5 days. I feel low, have tested negative for pregnancy and ultrasound is clear, only the endometrial lining is 12 mm. I don t feel energetic at all. Earlier I used to exercise regularly. Please advice.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you should get further evaluated doing an DC procedure since the endometrial lining is so thick. This can't be related to pregnancy but to hormonal issues.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
