General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Brown discharge can be considered as normal. It is due to retention of old blood, which gets mixed with cervical secretions and comes out as discharge.
It should subside gradually once your periods returns back to normal. it might take about 3 to 4 months.
In case it bothers you, occurs frequently and is associated with other symptoms, you need to seek medical attention promptly by consulting Obstetrician for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
