What Causes Brown Saliva And Blood In Stool?

Hi I am 31 years old. I got up today with brown saliva on my bed. I had yesterday a very big indian lunch around 4 pm and a potato crisp packet just before went to sleep. Is it because of that. Few weeks back I also passed some blood through my stool but I also remember I had eaten spicy food the other day.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, you need to rule out any food-related infection exposure as if it persists stool analysis and microscopy may be needed.

Antibiotics like ciprofloxacin or metronidazole may also be needed. Soft diets and hydration should be ensured alongside.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
