What Causes Brown Patch Along With Blisters On Leg?
I was diagnosed with cellulitis on 3/15 was given oral antibiotics for 10 days redness and swelling are gone but still have brown mark on my leg and over the past 2 days blisters around it has developed what can I do is it coming back will the spot ever go away?
Give rest to your leg, it will promote healing. Lying with your affected leg raised above your heart will help to reduce swelling. This will also reduce irritation, itching, and burning sensation. Do not touch or scratch. In many of the cases, cellulitis heals in about 10 days with the help of antibiotics. However, some infections may require longer treatment if the infection is not responding well to treatment.
Get a follow-up check up done. You may require to repeat the course of antibiotics you have been prescribed. In case you have a weakened immune system you may also need longer or stronger doses of antibiotics or injections. Keep the wound clean and apply ointment Soframycin if required to prevent any infection.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
