What Causes Brown Circle On Foot Post Rusty Nail Injury?

Hi. I stepped on a rusty nail. Probably 3 weeks ago, then it was a bit painful during the first couple of hours. I did not feel pains after that. But now i have noticed a brown circle with a dark brown color in the center of it developping on my foot. It does not hurt at all. But im a bit concerned!! Any advice. Many thanks

Hello,

I can understand your concern for brown circle on foot post rusty nail injury. It appears that after the nail injury it caused accumulation of blood over the affected area of the foot. It is quite common to find release of pigment and then formation of brownish spots after such kind injuries.

You just keep an observation of the area and if you feel that it is increasing in size then can discuss with your dermatologist. For the time being there is no need of application of any cream or ointment. Still if you are worried then you can discuss further with a dermatologist.
