Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my urine has suddenly become brown and cloudy. it just started couple of days ago. i have no difficulty going or pain, and do not notice a strong odour. mo other symptoms. i am taking naproxen to help with a likely herniated disk in the neck. i m also a heavy drinker.
Noted the history of brown and cloudy urine without any other symptoms of pain or so, taking Naproxen for likely herniated disc in neck. Naproxen per se is not known to cause such type of urine although this is just possible hence ask your Doctor to change over to another anti-inflammatory medicine with painkiller properties. The most probable cause I can think about is concentrated urine due to less fluid intake or can be due to heavy drinking. Best way is to get the urine sample tested for routine, microscopy, culture and sensitivity. If there is no infection then increasing the fluid intake can make the color of urine to normal. If there any urinary tract infection then an antibiotoic can take care of this. ALso needed will be an ultrasonography of abdomen, particularly for genitourinary tract. Get treated accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
