Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Bright Red And Watery Vaginal Discharge While On Nexplanon?
i have been on Nexplanon for a year and 4 months i usually have a thick brown discharge all the time, but after the last time i seen my boyfriend which was 7 weeks ago (we were sexually active) i stopped having that discharge and now my period is bright red and water and my cramps are making me double over.
As per my clinical experience, the white discharge per vagina do indicates underlying cervical infection, pelvic inflammatory condition or others. In my clinic, I do recommend: - Per vaginal and speculum examination - Culture swab report of the vaginal discharge for sensitivity evaluation whether bacteria, fungi responsible - Plenty of liquids to avoid secondary urinary infection - Abstinence from sex till recovery - Vaginal hygiene care
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
