Neurologist 's  Response
Hello!
I read your question and understand your concern.
The problems with your breathing , especially at night may be related to an obstructive problem. It may be from constriction of your bronchi from irritating factors like cold and smoking or inflammation, or any other anatomical problem of your breathing ways.
I would like to know if you have increased daytime sleepiness. This could be concerning for a sleep apnea.
I would recommend you to do a spirometry, to examine the function of your lungs and consult then a neurologist if everything ok with the spirometry. You may need medication in case of bronchi tube narroings.
There is a device which can help you a lot if sleep apnea is diagnosed.
Hope to have been helpful!
Thank you for using HCM!
Best wishes Dr. Abaz Quka
