What Causes Breathlessness, Left-sided Hip Pain And Cherry Angiomas Throughout The Body?

I have a dry cough with shortness of breath and sometimes difficulty swallowing, like something is in my throat. I also have pain in my left hip and right shoulder and I developed cherry hemangiomas throughout my body. What do you think this is. I am very scared.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I understand your concern. These symptoms, pain in hip and in the shoulder, cough, difficulty swallowing and shortness of breath might be caused by many conditions. Considering your symptoms, it seems like Lupus erythematosus. This is a chronic disorder that affects, skin, joints, and lungs and might be presented with the symptoms mentioned by you, and needs to be evaluated and followed by a rheumatologist.

You should go to the Emergency Room, for a consult with a doctor, and make some analysis: complete blood count, blood glucose, liver, and renal function tests. There they might treat you with corticosteroid drugs to improve the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Suela Gjata,
