What Causes Breathing Difficulty After Swallowing Garlic Extract?

I swallowed an aged garlic extract 600 ml, and it went down my wind pipe and I choked and tried to throw it back up but it wouldn t. I can breath alright now, but will I be alright and should I be able to sleep tonight? It is a gel cap type pill, I put in a glass of cold water and it seems to becoming soft and breaking apart, so hoping it is doing the same in my body to go down okay!!! What do you think?

Hello,

I would explain that it will be digested soon. Your stomach has a lot of enzymes and acid, which will help cut it into microscopic pieces.

So, just relax and don't worry about it. You should only wait and everything is going to be all right.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
