What Causes Breathing Difficulty After A Hernia Repair Surgery?

hi I just had hernia repair surgery last wednesday and the location was under the muscle within the ribcage. Pain is pretty persistent and at a high level - the last two days I am experiencing sudden strange involuntary short breaths similar to when you have cried and have calmed down but your breathing is still a little uncontrollable. what could this be. I am also in the middle of breast reconstruction so my body has been through so much at this point.

Hi,

I hope you don't have any fluid or air collection in the lungs. We need to do an X-ray for the same and you should consult your surgeon asap.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Harshita
