What Causes Breast Pain While On Clindamycin?

I started taking clindamycin 300 mg capsules 4 times daily for ten days as prophylasis for a tooth extraction. I am now experiencing a dull pain under my right breast. I also feel like vomiting after meals. should I decrease the frequency of the medication? Are there any interactions with food.

Clindamycin is an antibiotic with a wide spectrum. It is very rare that it might cause liver problems (hepatitis) in patients who take it for long times. In your case you are not using it for very long time so it is very unlikely the pain you are having is due to it. There are many other reasons why we can have pain under the right breast and you will need to talk with your doctor to better determine the reason for it.
