What Causes Breakouts Of Fluid Filled Sores On My Hips?

I have reoccurring breakouts on my hips of sores - filled with liquid - redish pink in color - I have a history of staph infections so I always assumed this was a type of staph but need to know if that is accurate or if this could be something else entirely??

Hello,

Most frequently, S. aureus strains first infect the skin and its structures (for example, sebaceous glands, hair follicles) or invade damaged skin (cuts, abrasions). Common types of skin infections include folliculitis, furuncles, carbuncles, impetigo, wound infections, scalded skin syndrome. Regarding your concern I think you need a physical examination by a dermatologist and to take culture from liquid sores to see what kind of infections is. I suggest to screen also for diabetes, getting started from your staph infection history.

I hope my answer help you. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Monika Dede
