General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Electrical shocks may be neuralgia which is nerve related pain. Neuralgia is due to neuropathy which is abnormal structure or function of the nerves.

Causes of neuropathy include: (a) vitamin b12 or folate deficiency
(b)diabetes
((c)trauma to the nerves
(d) liver or kidney disease
(e)side effect of medication
(f)hormonal or autoimmune disease
(g)infection such as shingles
(h)exposure to toxins

In some cases the cause is not known.

Though cymbalta may not be helpful for your depression , it is sometimes used for nerve related pain.
If it was not helpful for this, other medications to be considered would be amitriptyline, nortriptyline, tegretol, lyrica, gabapentin

I hope this helps
