yes my husband has not been feeling well the past few days the hopuse hold had the thanksgiving flubug from grand babies but he did not he has slight cough and stuffy nose we go to er because after i pick him up from work which he just started about two weeks ago works at precast company hard strenuous work he is complaining of full body aches and belly pain and chills but no fever vitals great but cpk level over 1000 they admit fluids but never ran urine for infections what does this mean they wanted to admit but he refused what should i do ..
We will try to help you in the best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what your husband had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, they might have been suspecting leptospirosis or did screening for the said based on his symptoms.
Though simple viral infection of upper respiratory tract may present with all these features but abdominal involvement and so much raised CPK is less likely.
Intravenous administration of fluids etc might have been helpful but usually, for such higher levels, indoor admission and workup of other myopathies or severe infections and intravenous antibiotics may also be needed.
You can take him back if he feels unstable persistently and he may need time off from the job as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
