What Causes Body Tremors After A Cranioplasty?

my father had a escemic stroke of the left hemisphere about six months ago.Right before his crainioplasty in pre op when he was given heavy doses of antibiotic, his body started to jerk involuntarily and now it is doing it two days after surgery as well. post surgery he was also shaking alot and they added more antiseizure medication dialantin and gave him an overnight eeg.now he still has the leads attached and it is not showing signs of seizures after the meds but still he has this body jerking.Any thoughts of what it is? Maybe reactions to the pre and post meds from surgery/

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per my clinical experience, the current presentation suggests possible effect over certain neuronal pathways after cranioplasty.

I strongly recommend an MRI of the brain for further evaluation and management accordingly.

Wish this information will help you. Do feel free to ask further doubts.
