What Causes Body Jerks And Itching Sensation?
( for my sister inlaw) she has been waking up in middle of night with what she describes as whole body jerking uncontrollably, and all her skin then itches all over and she then isn t able to get back to sleep. this has occurred on several occasions lately. she is not on any RX has not eaten under cooked fish, only has alcohol on rare occasions socially. she is a 45 y/o Caucasian female does smoke no family hx of Parkinson s or like illnesses.

I really appreciate your concern, what the history and symptoms being given here is suggestive of pruritus it could be due to some allergic condition but along with that scabies need to be ruled out till then "Tab Levocetirizine 10 mg" three times in day, clinical examination is must in this case, some time needs to ruled out some systemic cause too, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
