What Causes Body Itching While Having Dengue Fever?

Hello, My wife encountered with Dengue fever, the pathology reports confirmed about the disease. Its now 5th day and the fever has subsided since last 20-24 hours however she is now having itching all over the body. I want to know whether this is a sign post dengue fever and how much days will this itching last. she is still not having any reddish skin and swelling over the body but the itching is quite prominent. please guide.

hi. I have read your question and understand your concern.

itching in dengue fever is associated with reddish rash over body. since there is no rash the itching seems to be due to some other cause. may be the itching is due to the drugs she took for dengue.

I suggest you start her on antihistamines like tab atarax 25 mg thrice daily and calamine lotion and see your dermatologist.
