What Causes Body Chills While Suffering From Diabetes?

My husband started getting very cold and shaking really a lot. for about a half hr. he has three blankets on and a heating pad. His feet are still really cold. He went to bed fine and all of a sudden this started. He is Diabetic so I made him check his blood sugar was 7.9 His shakes are now calming down What could it be?

blood sugar level is not understood. have fasting and pp done and go for glycholated hemoglobin done.. urine be tested to rule out uti check temperature and blood test to rule out malaria.
