General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Vomiting associated with chills and body ache may be indicative of viral hepatitis, viral gastroenteritis, liver disorder, etc. She should do a pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy. Pregnancy also causes nausea, vomiting and body ache. Since she is vomiting, you are suggested to get her clinically examined in ER. She should take anti-emetic, one SOS to stop vomiting, if vomiting is profuse she may need injections to control it.

Get her liver function tests, blood tests, urinalysis (R/E and C/S) and imaging tests done to detect the pathology causing the symptoms. She will be treated accordingly. In the meantime, she should take acetaminophen, one SOS to ease body ache. She should stay away from addictions if any. Avoid taking spicy, oily food. Take home made nutritious food that is boiled and well cooked. She should avoid taking raw fruits and veggies, it should be cooked well before consumption. She can take liquid or semi-solid food that is easily digestible.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
